Scientific Solutions, Inc. is a California corporation, established in San Diego in 1994 to promote application of particle accelerator technologies, both within the accelerator community and within other disciplines.  In partnership with its customers, Scientific Solutions develops innovative concepts, from prototyping to small-run manufacturing.  In some cases, Scientific Solutions commercializes new technologies developed by its key scientist, Dr. Wayne D. Cornelius, Ph.D, President and Chief Executive Officer.

Scientific Solutions offers a full range of design and development services for:

• Accelerator and Beam Systems

Scientific Solutions, Inc. designs and creates particle accelerator components and subsystems for:  radioisotope production, proton therapy, nuclear physics research, and modification of materials.  These include ion and electron sources and high-voltage platforms, vacuum systems, electromagnets and permanent magnets, beam diagnostic instrumentation, and systems for stand-off detection of explosives and other contraband.

• Diagnostic Instrumentation

Scientific Solutions, Inc. designs and creates prototypes for: ion and electron beam measurements, plasma diagnostics, radio-frequency characterization, and vacuum and computer interface and control.  Scientific Solutions has also provided designs for NMR and MRI coils and magnets and electronic instrumentation for medical diagnostics and laboratory diagnostics.

• Electromagnet and Permanent Magnet Design and Fabrication

Scientific Solutions, Inc. designs highly specialized magnets and magnetic systems, including cryogenic magnets. Applications include NMR, MRI, and particle beam transport magnets where small size and light weight are important.  We work with world-class magnet manufacturers to fabricate highly successful prototypes.

• High Voltage Platforms

Scientific Solutions, Inc. designs high-voltage isolation systems for ion and electron sources and injection systems with voltages up to 100kv.

• Ion Sources and Beam Systems

Scientific Solutions, Inc. owns proprietary designs for miniaturized Electron-Cyclotron Resonance (ECR) Sources for low-charge state ions and has also designed and built an ECR charge-breeder for highly charged ions.

• Radio-Frequency (RF) Technology

Scientific Solutions, Inc. has developed a broadband rf source for plasma heating applications; an rf waveguide circular polarizer; and frequency, phase, and amplitude feedback systems.
