Top Ten Problems We Solve!
- Magnet Design and Magnets: Our customers may need a special magnet or a magnet with special properties. Examples include magnets for nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR), magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), magnets with special field profiles (especially for reduced size or miniature assemblies), or permanent magnets to replace electromagnets.
- Ion Sources: Our customers may need an ion source for a particular application such as particle accelerators, ion implantation, nuclear physics research, and ion machining/ion milling. Scientific Solutions specializes in developing ion sources that are significantly smaller and/or more compact than products from competitors.
- Diagnostic Instrumentation: Our customers may need a special diagnostic instrument for a specific application. Examplies of these appliciations include plasmas, ion beams, electron beams, nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR), magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), radiation detectors, security devices, radio frequency and microwave devices, lasers, electronics, and medical diagnostics.
- Accelerators: Our customers may need an accelerator to create radioisotopes, to create gamma rays and/or neutrons for spectrometry, radiography, and materials identification, or accelerators for proton therapy or ion implantation.
- Miniaturization: Most often our customers are designing and/or creating the next generation of their current product or device–especially medical devices and diagnostic instrumentation. These next generation devices are planned for reduced size with improved functionality, sensitivity, and/or accuracy.
- Project Management and Project Team Development: For a variety of reasons, our customers may need to outsource their R&D activities. Scientific Solutions is a cost-effective resource for contract research and product development.
- Concepts: Our customers may approach us with an idea or concept and require validation of that concept. Alternatively, they may have identified a need for a particular device and do not know how to design that device to solve the problem.
- Poor performance of prototypes: Customers approach Scientific Solutions for help in diagnosing and debugging electronic and mechanical devices that are not achieving their design and/or performance specifications.
- Project and program review: Customers approach Scientific Solutions to review proprietary designs for technical feasibility, scalability, and assistance in the identification of appropriate technologies to apply towards solving a particular problem. Customers are also interested in identification of alternative approaches that may prove more robust, easier to implement, or more cost-effective to manufacture and service.
- Vacuum Systems: Clients approach Scientific Solutions to design vacuum systems used in semiconductor fabrication, sputtering and thin-film deposition systems, cryogenic insulation, accelerators and accelerator beam lines, and electron beam welders.
